Over the course of the last couple of weeks I have been working on revamping several old models I previously made from the original Mobile Suit: Gundam anime series and optimizing and texturing said Assets, aiming for a stylized Cel-shaded anime look inspired by the original anime series art style. I have been mainly focusing on optimizing the Assets so as to be useable in a Virtual Reality (VR) capacity - however this is personal practice and skill demonstration and not for a commercial product.
Due to the large number of Assets, I have broken the A.S posts up into 5 Separate Posts. This post pertains specifically to all of the weaponry assets I have created for this project collectively (so includes both Mobile Suit and Capital Ship Ordnance):
EFSF Mobile Suits: https://www.artstation.com/artwork/g8Z3We
Zeon Mobile Suits: https://www.artstation.com/artwork/Wm4xvQ
SCV70 White Base and Musai-class: https://www.artstation.com/artwork/g8Z3ve
Gundam Cockpit: https://www.artstation.com/artwork/qQ8Y5L
As mentioned, the Assets I have created for this project are intended to be optimized for use in VR and so therefore the models have been created using a lower-poly approach. The Polycount the weaponry generally doesn't go over 800 poly and the ammo and ordnance generally are between 200 poly - 600 poly.
Assets were:
- Modelled, uv mapped, and rigged in Blender
- Textured in paint.NET
- Rendered in Unity using the URP-version of the RealToon Shader Package to achieve the anime-themed stylistic look (and also because Unity is where I intend to tinker with these assets further).
All Models and Textures are my own (unless otherwise noted) and I do not claim ownership of copyrighted material contained herein, this is a fan work and intended for practice and skill demonstration. No AI was used in the creation of these Assets.
